BP Case Study

BP is a global company based in London with nineteen refineries globally. BP’s Carson refinery, which is located in Los Angeles, produces 250,000 barrels per day of products, including gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and propane. It adopted BLISS in 1998 after completing a four-year evaluation process of various LIMS applications.

Louisiana Pigment Case Study

Louisiana Pigment, a world class manufacturer of titanium dioxide, has used Baytek International’s™ BLISS since their facility was brought online in 1991. When they examined BLISS, they saw a process and data handling system that truly fit their plant process. They also saw a dynamic product capable of growing with them as their hardware and systems changed.

Valero Case Study

Based in San Antonio, Valero is the top producer of refined products in the United States today. They have seventeen refining plants internationally with a combined capacity of 3.3 million barrels per day. The Port Arthur plant became a Baytek International™ customer in 2001.

Lyondell Case Study

Lyondell-Citgo, a joint venture between Lyondell Petrochemicals and Citgo, is a major producer of gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. Shortly after the company was formed, officials realized there was a serious problem. The plant was operating on an antiquated image database that was projected to crash in Y2K. Lyondell-Citgo responded by seeking a new LIMS to replace the old system.

Citgo Case Study

Based in Houston, Texas, CITGO is a refiner and marketer of transportation fuels, lubricants, petrochemicals, refined waxes, asphalt and other industrial products. The Houston refinery produces 450,000 barrels a day of raw crude, ranking it as one of the top ten producing refineries in the United States. Citgo’s Houston refinery first adopted BLISS in 1985 and was Baytek’s third customer. Over the last 20 years, Citgo has watched the development of BLISS as it evolved from being character-based to partially Windows-based, to full Windows-based and finally to web-based.
